After leaving Tennessee’s season opener early, it appears that wide receiver Jauan Jennings won’t be returning to the field anytime soon.
Jennings is reportedly undergoing wrist surgery on Tuesday afternoon and will miss up to 12 weeks with the injury, according to Volquest.com.
Jennings exited Monday’s double-overtime win over Georgia Tech during the second quarter, appearing to be in major pain shortly after. Then, he was ruled out for the second half.
This will likely be a tough loss for the Vols’ inexperienced unit at wide receiver. Last season, Jennings totaled 580 yards and seven touchdowns for Tennessee.
Jennings had three catches for 17 yards before sustaining the injury on Monday.
