It seems like all anyone can talk about is Tennessee and how royally the Vols’ administration screwed everything up. Now, according to a report from Jimmy Hyams of Sports Radio WNML, the Vols are going after … Mike Gundy?
With Duke's David Cutcliffe and Iowa State's Matt Campbell out of the picture, Tennessee has turned its coaching search focus to Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy. Three sources told me UT has interviewed Gundy, perhaps in Dallas. UT offered Gundy in 2012 but he said declined.

The news comes after Tennessee failed to snag David Cutcliffe and Matt Campbell.
Mike Gundy just signed a new deal this summer, and is the beloved leader of a dynamic offense. Conventional wisdom says he doesn’t leave Oklahoma State, but we’re talking about the college football coaching carousel, where logic is absent.
Seriously, Tennessee just hired a guy and caved to their fanbase when they revolted over his coaching acumen and a dubious connection to the Penn State scandal. With the amount of anarchy and incompetence, why would anyone want to work there?
Tennessee can throw wheelbarrows of cash at you, but there’s no amount of money that can buy peace of mind. When you factor in that Mike Gundy is an Oklahoma State grad and his new extension, it’s hard to see the majestic, mulleted Gundy leaving.
