Report: 3 SEC basketball coaches sending shoes, shirts to Houston after Hurricane Harvey

Here’s a feel-good story involving some SEC basketball coaches.

The Houston area is going through a tough time because of flooding related to Hurricane Harvey. On Monday, Houston coach Kelvin Sampson used Twitter to ask coaches throughout the country to send T-shirts and shoes to him to help Houstonians.

Turns out, Kentucky coach John Calipari, Alabama coach Avery Johnson and LSU coach Will Wade have joined in the effort, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

This is such a great move by these SEC coaches and everyone else who will help in the cause.

Here’s hoping others will join and assist in any way possible. This is an example of what can be done when people of influence use their platforms to lend a hand in a time of need.

Keep it coming, coaches.
