On Friday morning, reports came out that Phillip Fulmer had been angling to get John Currie out of a job so Fulmer could become the school’s athletic director.
And it appears that he may have gotten his way. According to a report from Jimmy Hyams, Fulmer will be named the school’s athletic director later on on Friday. It is not yet known whether this will be on a full-time or interim basis.
While UT considered Reid Sigmon for interim AD job to replace the fired John Currie, Phillip Fulmer will be named the athletic director at the 4 pm presser, but don't know if full time or interim. With Fulmer at the helm, don't be surprised if pool of candidates opens up.
