Tennessee appears to be pitching the entire weight of its athletic department at Mike Gundy.
According to Brett McMurphy, Peyton Manning, the most famous Volunteer of all time, gave Mike Gundy a call to hopefully sell him on the Tennessee job.

With the way today is shaking out, if Tennessee misses on this, it will be an abject disaster. The Volunteers are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Mike Gundy. If he turns them down, where will they turn? Who will want to come to their program?
Mike Gundy is notorious for flirting with other schools, but admittedly, he’s never had this much thrown at him.
There are reports of Tennessee offering to double his salary, which would make him one of the highest-paid coaches in college football.
Needless to say, the Oklahoma State and Tennessee faithful, as well as the schools that could be affected by a domino effect here, are hanging on every tweet and scrap of information that is surfacing.
