The day many Ole Miss and SEC fans have been waiting for appears to be on the horizon.
According to a report from Antonio Morales of the Jackson-Clarion Ledger, Ole Miss has been given its 24-hour notice of a ruling by the Committee on Infractions. Ole Miss is expected to find out the penalties at 8:30 AM, and will be made public later on in the day.
Ole Miss announced this past Sunday that Matt Luke will be the school’s full-time coach, after serving as the interim coach this season.
The Ole Miss football team was charged with 21 violations, with 15 of those being Level I, the most serious violations. Ole Miss contested parts of nine of those violations but also self-imposed a bowl ban for the 2017 season. Ole Miss went 6-6 this year and would’ve qualified for a bowl had there not been the bowl ban.
