Report: Missouri football names its captains for the 2017 season

Barry Odom seems to slowly be figuring out how he wants to run things in Columbia, Mo. After doling out captains honors on a week-by-week basis in 2016, Odom and Missouri football are going the more traditional route in 2017, naming four season-long captains: quarterback Drew Lock, right tackle Paul Adams, defensive end Jordan Harold, and linebacker Eric Beisel, according to the Kansas City Star’s Tod Palmer:

All four players saw increased roles in 2016, emerging as leaders for a team in desperate need of it after a tumultuous 2015 campaign. Lock, in particular, had a breakout season in new offensive coordinator Josh Heupel’s up-tempo system.

Missouri, and its new captains, open their season on Sept. 2 against the Missouri State Bears.
