Tennessee is still searching for its new head coach, but there might be some welcome news for Volunteers fans on Thursday night.
Per Pete Thamel, Washington State head coach Mike Leach has become the new leader to be the replacement for Butch Jones in Knoxville.
Tennessee athletic director John Currie, who was in California on Thursday, has reportedly met with Leach to discuss the position. The Volunteers have been turned down by a handful of coaches so far for the position.
Leach has helped turn the Washington State program around since arriving in 2012, including a 9-3 season this year and appearance in three straight bowl games.
