Hurricane Harvey has devastated southern Texas and done a real number on the city of Houston. The images out on social media this morning show that the city of Houston is in real trouble.
LSU’s game against BYU in Houston seems trivial at this point, but according to a report from Steven Godfrey of SBNation, officials from BYU and LSU will meet on Sunday to discuss moving the game from Houston. Godfrey listed New Orelans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Baton Rouge as possible options. ESPN will have final say on the relocation of the game.
It’s also worth mentiong that BYU does not play on Sundays, per school policy in accordance with the Church of Latter Day Saints.
This isn’t unfamiliar territory for LSU. In 2015, the LSU-South Carolina game was relocated to Baton Rouge due to flooding in South Carolina. Then last year, there was the highly publicized back-and-forth between Florida and LSU about where to play their game. The two eventually met in Baton Rouge in November.
As of now, the Tigers game against BYU is set for a 9:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.
