After a wild day in Knoxville, the news cycle isn’t stopping anytime soon. The latest bombshell comes from Yahoo’s Pete Thamel, who reports Iowa State coach Matt Campbell will not be involved with the opening at Tennessee.

Tennessee was expected to announce Ohio State DC Greg Schiano as its head coach Sunday night, but massive social media backlash cause UT officials to back off.
Campbell may have been their next call, but it appears it won’t work out between the two parties. He’s led the Cyclones to a 7-5 season in his second year in Ames, including wins over the Big 12’s best teams in Oklahoma and TCU. Iowa State was also within a touchdown of beating Iowa, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Kansas State.
It’s unclear where the Vols will turn to from here.
