Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman is reporting that there’s “increasing pressure” to try to force out Tennessee athletic director John Currie after the Greg Schiano development.
On Monday, Feldman used Twitter to quote an unnamed Tennessee source that told him “this is such a hot mess.” On Sunday, the Vols appeared close to hiring the Ohio State defensive coordinator before massive fan backlash forced the deal to fall through.
Am told there's increasing pressure now from big-money #Vols boosters to force #Tennessee AD John Currie out in the wake of Sunday's news. UT source told me: "This is such a hot mess. Just when you think they’ve gotten out of the ditch. They’ve fallen into a much bigger one.”

Currie, who arrived from Kansas State, was named Tennessee’s athletic director in February. The Vols finished 4-8 this season, which included the firing of Butch Jones after a loss to Missouri on Nov. 11.
