Report: FSU announces interim head coach to replace Jimbo Fisher

Jimbo Fisher is leaving for Texas A&M but Florida State still has an important game on Saturday.

The Seminoles will host Louisiana-Monroe at noon (EST) with their bowl eligibility hanging in the balance.

The Aggies were able to get their man, wooing the Florida State coach away from Tallahassee with a contract worth $7.5 million annually over a ”likely” 10 years, according to KPRC’s Randy Mcllvoy.

Now, it appears one a Seminole lifer will be guiding the team in the regular season finale as they try to reach six victories.

According to FOX Sports reporter Bruce Feldman, Florida State defensive line coach Odell Haggins will serve as the head coach for the game vs. Louisiana-Monroe.

Haggins brings a wealth of experience, as he has been the defensive line coach at Florida State since 1996. Haggins was also previously the tight ends and offensive line coach at Florida State in 1994-95.

Haggins was a College All-American in 1989 for Florida State as a defensive tackle and was drafted in the 1990 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
