Florida got the man they wanted after Chip Kelly went west, but if they decide he’s not the one before his contract is up, the Gators will pay dearly.
Dan Mullen will receive $12 million if the Gators let him go while he’ll pay $2 million if the sides are switched according to a report from Orlando Sentinel beat writer Edgar Thompson.
Dan Mullen contract terms: $6 million annually over six seasons. UF has a $12 million buyout if let Mullen go, while Mullen would pay $2 million to get out of deal.

He’s already situated well among college football’s coaching elite, but the Gators are certainly hedging their bets that they’ve made the right decision to bring back a name from the Tim Tebow glory days.
He went 69-46 at Mississippi State and Florida hopes he can better Jim McElwain’s mark of 22-12 at the school.
