Alabama safety Hootie Jones reportedly sustained a knee injury in a loss to Auburn last Saturday.
As reported by AL.com’s Matt Zenitz on Tuesday, Jones sustained a partial MCL tear, and it’s unclear if the defensive back will play again this season. Zenitz added that “the injury isn’t as bad as it looked it may be.”
Auburn beat Alabama at Jordan-Hare Stadium, a result that allowed the Tigers to clinch the SEC West and earn the chance to play Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide fell to 11-1 with the result, and they need some help to reach the College Football Playoff once more.
Jones has 53 tackles and 2 interceptions this season.
