The 2018 recruiting cycle isn’t over yet, but 4-star defensive end Zacch Pickens is already getting plenty of attention as a junior. The 2019 recruit is South Carolina’s top player in that class, and he’s already ranked 19th overall in the nation by 247Sports.
At 6-3, 244-pounds, Pickens has the size to be a dominant force on the edge. He’s already college-ready, and he still has a year left in high school. His junior season at T. L. Hanna High School ended in early November, as the Yellow Jackets were upset by Greenwood in the second round of the South Carolina playoffs.
But Pickens’ future is as bright as they come. His first offer came from Florida State when he was a sophomore, and now he has nine total. Included in that list are Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Penn State and Michigan. Currently, Pickens is a 100-percent favorite to Clemson, according to four predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.
However, this could come down to a Clemson vs. South Carolina battle. He’s already visited South Carolina four times, and taken three trips to Clemson.
See why Pickens is so highly regarded in his recently released junior highlight video below.
