Penn State RB Saquon Barkley, TE Mike Gesicki make USA Today All-America team

USA Today released its All-America team on Wednesday. Penn State RB Saquon Barkley was one of two running backs selected to the team, the latest honor for a player who’s piling up preseason honors.

He joined teammate Mike Gesicki and three other Big Ten players on the USA Today’s first team.

The first team:

  • RB: Saquon Barkley, Penn State
  • TE: Mike Gesicki, Penn State
  • C: Billy Price, Ohio State
  • OG: Beau Benzschawel, Wisconsin
  • LB: Josey Jewell, Iowa

The second team:

  • OG: Sean Welsh, Iowa
  • DE: Tyquan Lewis, Ohio State
  • LB: Tegray Scales, Indiana
  • S: Godwin Igwebuike, Northwestern
  • K: Emmit Carpenter, Minnesota

Penn State was one of 10 programs to place multiple players on the team, joining Alabama, Florida State, USC, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Iowa, Washington and Louisville.
