Wisconsin is No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, revealed Tuesday night. After the rankings were released, Paul Finebaum and Kirk Herbstreit debated the Badgers’ merits on ESPN.
The Badgers’ weak strength of schedule has been a knock on them all season, and it was front-and-center during the debate.
Finebaum: “Right now, I wouldn’t vote Wisconsin in there. And I’m not sure what they can do the rest of the way unless they start obliterating teams up until and during the Big Ten championship game. They’re in big trouble in my mind.”
Finebaum: “I’m sitting here using Wisconsin as an example, but at the same time, I think they came off their best game last week in how they played on both sides of the ball against Indiana on the road, conference game. This week they play Iowa, who’s coming off a big win against Ohio State. They’ve been great all year. They’ve got games: Michigan, Iowa, Big Ten championship game, so they’re going to have an opportunity to impress people and be maybe considered a top-4 team.”
Finebaum: “I agree with you on that point,”
