After Clemson made quick work of South Carolina on Saturday, it shifts its attention to the ACC Championship Game against Miami. The winner of that game should find itself in the College Football Playoff, given both teams’ ranking and the value the selection committee puts on conference champions.
Where does Pat Forde stand on the game? The Yahoo Sports columnist took a look at all of the conference championship games set to be played, and is picking the Tigers to win their third straight ACC title.
“Team Turnover Chain had a reality check last Friday away from South Florida, losing at 5-7 Pittsburgh,” Forde said. “Clemson fans will make this a heavy homefield advantage for the Tigers, who are the better team anyway.”
Despite Miami’s loss to Pitt, it still projects to be in the Playoff with a victory against Clemson on Saturday. But it will need to return to form – and overcome what may be a largely pro-Tigers crowd – to be among the four teams picked to advance to the national semifinals.
