With college football coaching search chaos reaching all-time highs elsewhere (specifically Knoxville, Tennessee), the Huskers are having a seemingly relaxed search. Scott Frost to Nebraska is looking likelier and likelier as the week goes on, but in case you needed one more indication that Frost is coming back to Lincoln, Huskers fans, here you go.
Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi, who covers Frost’s undefeated Central Florida team, said he had little doubt Frost would wind up as Nebraska’s next head coach after interviewing him on Thursday.
“As Frost answered those questions, it felt almost as if he he was saying goodbye to Orlando — a goodbye that is coming way too quickly,” Bianchi wrote. “It seems he’s only been here a minute even though he has provided us with the memories of a lifetime. I hope I’m wrong, but there’s little question in my mind now that Frost will be the next head coach of ’Huskers.”
Frost reflected on his two seasons at UCF in the interview and noted that there are only a few places in the country where he’d like to be the head coach — a list that seemed to include Nebraska.
Frost’s 14th-ranked Golden Knights face No. 20 Memphis on Saturday at Noon ET for the American Athletic Conference title. He could be announced as Nebraska’s coach as soon as Saturday afternoon.
