Oregon offers 4-star teammates from St. Louis

Oregon’s 2018 recruiting class, already one of the best in program history with 23 commitments, is far from being complete. Coach Willie Taggart and his staff continue to pursue other targets in hopes of solidifying his first class with the Ducks.

On Thursday that meant extending offers to a pair of teammates from St. Louis’ Parkway North High School. Oregon is interested in 4-star prospects Michael Thompson and Jalani Williams, hoping one or both will want to head west for college.

Thompson, No. 58 in 247Sports’ composite rankings, is a 6’3.5”, 291-pound defensive tackle who is considered the second-best player in the country at his position. He has offers from 25 schools, including USC, which has him coming to Los Angeles on Nov. 18 for an official visit.

Williams, a 6’2”, 160-pound athlete who plays wide receiver and safety, is rated by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 42 wideout. His 14 offers include ones from Arkansas, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Oregon’s 2018 class features commitments from players from 10 different states, mostly from California (6), Florida (4) and Oregon (4). Its current roster includes two players from Missouri: sophomore wide receiver Alex Ofodile and sophomore linebacker Blake Rugraff.
