One of Ole Miss’ key defenders on Saturday had a scary moment as defensive tackle Benito Jones was reportedly taken to the hospital.
Ole Miss announced that Jones was taken to the hospital for precautionary x-rays on his spine after a hit in Ole Miss’ scrimmage. The school also said that Jones did not lose feeling or movement in his extremities.

Jones had an impressive freshman campaign as he racked up 39 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. He was a consensus 5-star recruit in the 2016 recruiting class and the highest rated defensive member of Ole Miss’ 2016 class.
The Rebels open their 2017 season at home against South Alabama.
