Stay up to date with Oklahoma football recruiting with the latest news and notes and analysis in the daily edition of DieHards’ Wagon Wheels. Today, we look at the unofficial visitors amassing for the Sooners’ meeting with TCU.

Huge ‘Junior Day’ emerging for the TCU game

I asked Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley on Monday if another immense recruiting weekend is in store with the fifth-ranked Sooners hosting No. 8 TCU at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

“We’ll have some pretty good ones in. Yeah, we will. We’ll have a good group in,” the Oklahoma coach said.

The list of official visitors continues to grow with 4-star defensive end and UCLA commit Abdul-Malik McClain slated to visit. 3-star safety and Oklahoma commit Delarrin Turner-Yell is expected to join 4-star linebacker Christopher Oats and 3-star cornerback Ken Montgomery Jr., both Sooners targets

This weekend figures to be the last one big one as the Sooners close out the 2018 recruiting class, which stands at 20 with seven weeks to go until the December signing period begins.

The Sooners are jumping into their 2019 class with some significant players on unofficial visits, including 5-star Texas receivers Theo Wease Jr. and Arjei Henderson from Sugarland. Both announced their weekend plans via Twitter.

Wease’s teammate at Allen High School, 4-star guard E.J. Ndoma-Ogar, is also slated to attend. 4-star linebacker Marcel Brooks (Flower Mound, Texas) is also planning to be at the game.

Oklahoma commit and 4-star tight end Austin Stogner will also be in attendance. That means the Nos. 3 (Wease), 4 (Henderson), 7 (Stogner), 11 (Brooks) and 23 (Ndoma-Ogar) in the 2019 247Sports Texas rankings will be on the Sooners’ campus.

The Sooners currently hold four commitments for the 2019 class. Stogner is joined by 4-star quarterback Spencer Rattler (Phoenix), 4-star wide receiver Trejan Bridges (Carrollton, Texas) and 3-star wide receiver Jeffrey Carter (Aledo, Texas).

Vote for Asamoah

2018 Oklahoma linebacker commit Brian Asamoah is in the quarterfinals of a fan vote for the final spot in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game.

The 3-star linebacker from St. Francis De Sales High School in Columbus, Ohio, committed to Oklahoma in September.

The Sooners do not have a current commit playing in the all-star game that will be played on Jan. 4, 2018 in Orlando, Fla.

Fans can vote here. The last player for the game is picked through a 32-player tournament. Asamoah is up against Penn State commit Jesse Luke for a spot in the round of eight.
