For yet another consecutive week, Oklahoma was ranked lower expected on Tuesday night in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Sooners came in at No. 3 despite blowing out West Virginia, 59-31, on Saturday. Oklahoma was topped by Clemson and two-loss Auburn in the latest rankings.
With Oklahoma receiving disrespect from the committee yet again — at least in the eyes of the Sooner faithful — some are wondering if anything will be good enough for their team to ascend to the pinnacle of college football.
Oklahoma football announcer Toby Rowland had the perfect tweet to troll the playoff committee on Tuesday after the latest show:
A friend of a friend who knows someone who knows someone who recently stayed at The Gaylord told me…that if OU wins the national championship the committee might consider moving them up to #2 in the rankings. #fingerscrossed

Thankfully, we’ll never see another split national title again with the implementation of the playoff several seasons ago. But it’s becoming quite puzzling why the Sooners aren’t moving up much in the rankings despite crushing opponent after opponent.
Oklahoma will compete in the Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 2 — a rematch vs. No. 11 TCU. If the Sooners win, they’ll likely be headed to Pasadena or New Orleans on New Year’s Day 2018.
