Ryan Day expected to remain on Ohio State staff

It looks like Ryan Day will be spending more than one season on Urban Meyer’s staff at Ohio State. Day — the Buckeyes’ quarterbacks coach/co-offensive coordinator — was reportedly a candidate for the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator under new coach and former Ohio State star Mike Vrabel. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday night that Day was expected to stay with the Buckeyes.

This is big news for Ohio State because Day will be crucial in working a new starting quarterback into the Buckeyes’ system in 2018. It also doesn’t force Meyer to have to add another assistant coach late in the process.

Ohio State moves up to No. 13 in AP poll, tops Nebraska

Monday was another good day for the Ohio State basketball program. First, the Buckeyes learned that they shot up nine spots to No. 13 in the AP Top 25. It’s the Buckeyes’ highest ranking in the poll since they were No. 12 in a poll released on Dec. 15, 2014. Here’s the full AP poll for this week.

Then Chris Holtmann’s team backed up the ranking. Playing for the second time in three days, Ohio State fended off a tough test from Nebraska for a 64-59 win at home. It moved the Buckeyes to 18-4 on the season and 9-0 in Big Ten play. Keita Bates-Diop had a team-best 20 points for Ohio State, which went just 2 of 14 from beyond the 3-point arc. James Palmer Jr. scored 34 of Nebraska’s points. Here’s a box score.

J.T. Barrett trolls Michigan, Jim Harbaugh with hilarious autograph

J.T. Barrett reminded everyone once again that “The Spot” was good. Barrett signed an autograph for an Ohio State fan at the East-West Shrine Game last week and wrote “It was a 1st down Harbaugh” on a helmet. He also included the score of the unforgettable 2016 Ohio State-Michigan game on the helmet.

Eleven Warriors posted a picture of the autograph on Twitter.
