Mike Weber is healthy to go for Ohio State, but that doesn’t mean he’ll automatically get to start over J.K. Dobbins against Oklahoma. The two running backs were listed as co-starters on Ohio State’s depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game.
Weber, who ran for over 1,000 yards as a freshman in 2016, was held out of the Buckeyes’ opener against Indiana with a hamstring injury. In his place, Dobbins ran for 181 yards — a program record for a freshman in his first game — on 29 carries.
“I think he’ll be good for us, Mike being able to start us off and J.K. coming in right behind him,” QB J.T. Barrett told reporters. “That was a lot of carries for J.K., and he did a great job protecting the football. Just having those guys rotate in and out to give each other a breather and still be explosive in the run game will be good.”
DT Mike Hill, who was suspended to start the season, was not listed in the team’s depth chart.
