Ohio State still has to take care of business on the field Saturday night against Wisconsin, but that isn’t stopping fans and analysts from pondering the Buckeyes’ chances to make the College Football Playoff if they wind up with a Big Ten title and two losses.
A lot could happen on Saturday, but one of the most likely scenarios entering the weekend is the fourth playoff spot coming down to either Ohio State or Alabama. So what are the Buckeyes chances of making the final four if they beat the Badgers at Lucas Oil Stadium? It’s 58 percent, according to stat-based prediction website FiveThirtyEight.
FiveThirtyEight is giving the Buckeyes a 33 percent chance of making the College Football Playoff entering the weekend. Urban Meyer’s team was also listed with a 56 percent chance to beat No. 4 Wisconsin in the neutral site game.
Ohio State was listed as a 6.5-point favorite against the Badgers as of Wednesday night.
