Greg Schiano deal with Tennessee breaks down
A Twitter mob cited a 2015 deposition asserting that Schiano told someone he walked in on Jerry Sandusky assaulting someone while he worked at Penn State. However, as Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports noted, it’s hearsay denied by both parties involved in that alleged conversation. Additionally, no authority found the claim credible enough to prosecute it and no victim has tried to sue Schiano.
Schiano will not be the next Tennessee coach, though. He is seeking compensation for the termination of the deal.
Urban Meyer updates J.T. Barrett status
Speaking on the Big Ten teleconference on Sunday afternoon, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said he doesn’t know for sure yet whether J.T. Barrett will play against Wisconsin after leaving the Michigan game with a knee injury.
“We won’t know more for a couple days but everything seems to be improving,” he said.
Ohio State holds steady in polls
After a 31-20 win against Michigan on Saturday, Ohio State stayed at No. 8 in the AP Top 25 released Sunday and at No. 8 in the Amway Coaches Poll.
The Buckeyes maintained their spot in the Land of 10’s Big Ten Power Poll released Sunday night, remaining a unanimous second-place team behind Wisconsin.
Buckeyes open as big favorites
Ohio State is the betting favorite in the Big Ten title game against undefeated Wisconsin. The Buckeyes opened just shy of a touchdown favorite over Wisconsin when lines were released Sunday.
