Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett and Billy Price, as well as Josey Jewell from Iowa have been named finalists for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award. The Big Ten trio was among 10 finalists announced for the honor Wednesday.
To meet qualifications for the award, “a student-athlete must have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.” Barrett, Price and Jewell were all chosen through a selection committee. The winner for the honor will be chosen through a combination of fan vote at www.seniorCLASSaward.com, and votes from media and coaches.
Here is the full list of 2017 Senior CLASS Award finalists:
- J.T. Barrett, Ohio State
- Daniel Carlson, Auburn
- Shaquem Griffin, UCF
- Josey Jewell, Iowa
- Micah Kiser, Virginia
- Billy Price, Ohio State
- Frank Ragnow, Arkansas

Barrett, Price and Jewell are already three of the most-decorated players in the Big Ten. Regardless of the Senior CLASS Award, they will all likely be garnering more accolades following the regular season.
