Nebraska reportedly set to announce Scott Frost hiring on Saturday

The Scott Frost-to-Nebraska rumors took yet another step forward Wednesday, as a press conference to announce Frost is reportedly scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m.

The news comes from Bleacher Report’s Lars  Anderson, who also reports that Frost’s hand-picked assistant coaches are already shopping for houses in Lincoln.

That specific timing of 4 p.m. on Saturday might raise an eyebrow considering Frost’s Central Florida team is scheduled to play in the American Athletic Conference Championship game at noon ET that same day. That would mean any announcement on the Huskers’ part would come with Frost still in Orlando, plus it could make goodbyes to players and others at Central Florida awkward.

Anderson has reported on Frost’s dance with Nebraska multiple times over the past few weeks, first saying the two parties were close to a seven-year, $35 million agreement, then saying it was a “done deal.”

There seems little doubt Frost is headed to Lincoln at this point, as Frost’s former employer in Oregon doesn’t even think it would have a chance to hire him to fill its own potential head coaching vacancy. Rumors have been flying for weeks about Frost’s homecoming, and it looks like we’ll finally have an answer this weekend.
