Nebraska recruiting: Latest updates on Huskers’ 2018 football class

The Nebraska recruiting class added its most recent commitment on Monday, Aug. 7 with 4-star WR Cameron Brown. Brown de-committed but is now back in the 2018 Huskers pledge class.

5-star Micah Parsons is also still looking at the Huskers. But Nebraska recently lost a commit, as 4-star WR Manuel Allen flipped to Louisville.

Here’s a glance at where things stand for the 2018 Nebraska recruiting class:

Where the Nebraska recruiting class ranks:

Nebraska’s 2018 class is currently the No. 37 class in the country, and No. 8 in the Big Ten. Six of Nebraska’s 10 commits are 4-star prospects.

Latest Nebraska recruiting class news:

Nebraska picked up commitment No. 11 on Monday, Aug. 7, when Cameron Brown committed to the Huskers — again. Brown committed in May before de-committing in June. But now he’s back and part of the 2018 class.

But the Huskers moved back down to 10 commits on Thursday, Aug. 17, when 4-star Manuel Allen de-committed.

Brendan “Bookie” Radley-Hiles, the Huskers’ top 2018 commit, is writing a first-person weekly story told to Nebraska beat writer Erin Sorensen.

Offers by the numbers:

  • Reported offers: 185
  • 5-star offers: 19

Top uncommitted Nebraska targets

Micah Parsons, 5 stars, Harrisburg, Pa.

Parsons is the No. 5 player in the 2018 class and No. 1 weakside defensive end — and also in Pennsylvania. He visited Nebraska for the Friday Night Lights Camp. As reported by Adam Friedman of, Parsons will be at Nebraska’s game against Wisconsin on Oct. 7. He’ll be at Ohio State’s game vs. Penn State on Oct. 28. Parsons is a Penn State de-commit.

DB Christian Tutt, 4 stars, Thomson, Ga.

Tutt is the No. 24 cornerback in the 2018 class and No. 23 player from Georgia. Tutt visited for Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights camp and is scheduled to come back to Lincoln for an official visit this fall. 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions favor the Huskers.

DB Houston Griffith, 4 stars, Bradenton, Fla.

Griffith’s recruitment has been all over the board. His 247Sports Crystal Ball has swung Nebraska’s way, then Florida State’s way, then back a bit to Nebraska. The No. 10 corner in the 2018 class is teammates with Radley-Hiles, which should help Nebraska. Griffith plans to take an official visit to Nebraska this fall.

DL Daniel Carson, 3 stars, Independence, Mo.

Though Nebraska doesn’t really need another defensive end in the 2018 class, they are still recruiting Carson, who is the No. 22 strongside DE in the 2018 class and No. 9 player in Missouri. The Huskers are considered the favorites to be Carson’s landing spot.
