Nebraska football releases first depth chart of 2017 season

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska football released its first depth chart of the 2017 season on Monday.

Some notes from the depth chart:

  • As expected, Patrick O’Brien is the No. 2 quarterback behind Tanner Lee.
  • Eric Lee Jr. and Lamar Jackson are the two starting cornerbacks. DiCaprio Bootle is behind Lee.
  • Nebraska will start the season with a running back by committee. Tre Bryant, Mikale Wilbon and Devine Ozigbo are all listed as potential starters at I-back.
  • JD Spielman is the starting kickoff returner, with freshmen Tyjon Lindsey and Jaylin Bradley backing him up.

Nebraska football’s new depth chart:

Nebraska is scheduled to kick off its 2017 season on Saturday at home against Arkansas State. The Huskers will then travel to Eugene, Ore., to face the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 9.
