Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Injury update

Coach Mike Riley is hopeful many of Nebraska’s injured players will recover in time for the Minnesota game on Saturday. Regardless, the list remains fairly extensive this point. Some key notes include linebacker Luke Gifford who is not expected to return in time, while two other linebackers may be back on the field at TCF Bank Stadium.

Speaking of injuries, there was no change to the injured list on the latest depth chart.

Positive praise for Huskers

Safety Dallas Craddieth seems to be pretty high on the Huskers, and he discussed his interest in Nebraska with Land of 10’s Chris Bumbaca. With Nebraska’s focus on defensive backs for the 2018 recruiting class, the 3-star prospect from Florissant, Mo., could be a solid addition.

Wait and see

When will Nebraska and Penn State kick off on Saturday, Nov. 18? We would typically know by now, but the Big Ten has opted for a 6-day pick for the game. The announcement will now come Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Still motivated

Nebraska hasn’t lost its motivation. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf was particularly impressed with the Huskers’ motivation at pracitce on Monday.

Goal’s still the same

Riley called the bowl game “a carrot,” as it’s still dangling out in front of Nebraska. Can the Huskers reach the bowl game goal?

Rock ’em, sock ’em

The NFL allowing touchdown celebrations has given us so many wonderful moments so far this season. On Monday night, former Huskers and current Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah got in on the fun.

Did he cheat? Maybe, but we’re still on Abdullah’s side on this one.

Oversleep and miss a recent Big Red Rising? No worries. We have all our past editions here.
