Nebraska athletics announces extension for its apparel partnership with Adidas

Nebraska athletics has announced an extension with its partnership deal with Adidas, partnering the Huskers with the apparel company for the next decade.

Nebraska, who has been partnered with Adidas since 1995, announced the extension on its athletics Twitter account Friday afternoon.

The extension between Nebraska and Adidas was announced a proposed deal a week ago, and it was voted on and approved by Nebraska’s Board of Regents Friday afternoon. The last extension between Nebraska and Adidas was approved in 2013, and was set to expire in 2018.

The extension with Adidas goes through 2028, and took effect retroactive back to July 1. The new deal would also replace the last year of the current contract between Nebraska and Adidas, which is now extended to 2028.

Officially, the extension is worth over $128 million.

The deal will officially bring out the alternate uniforms Adidas created for Nebraska, which pays homage to the 1997 Huskers team which won the national championship.
