Nation’s No. 2 LB, a priority LSU target, returning home to New Orleans

Donte Starks is finally returning home.

Starks, the nation’s No. 2-ranked linebacker in the Class of 2019, is transferring back to John Ehret (La.) High School in Marrero, La.

The 4-star linebacker transferred from St. Martin’s (Miss.) High School in Coastal Mississippi to Ehret after his sophomore season, but was ruled ineligible to play by the LHSAA. Starks played out his junior at Biloxi (Miss.) High School.

Starks, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound Under Armour All-American, have made a handful of unofficial visits to LSU over the past year. He attended the “Boys From the Boot” event back in the spring and has attended several home games this past fall.

An LSU lean, Starks recently explained to SEC Country why the Tigers have a unique edge in his recruitment. Starks expects to make a college decision during the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game.

Stick with SEC Country for more on Starks’ return to Louisiana.
