Missouri basketball breaks season ticket sales record for Mizzou Arena

The hype is real, and Missouri basketball fans are buying in, literally and figuratively.

One day after top-ranked freshman Michael Porter Jr. was named a preseason AP All American, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that men’s basketball season tickets are sold out. Mizzou fans not only accomplished that feat, but also they broke sales records for season tickets in Mizzou Arena.

That total essentially means that every Tigers home game for the 2017-18 basketball season will be played in front of a sold-out packed house. According to Matter, any opportunity for single-game tickets directly from Missouri Athletics will be dependent on visiting team and student returns.

Despite one of the best recruiting classes of the entire 2017 cycle coming into Columbia this season, Missouri did not land in the AP Preseason Top 25. The Tigers will have a chance a chance to prove those voters wrong, and it looks like they’ll have 15,000+ fans behind them every time they take the floor at home.
