Minnesota football fans have spoken and the Golden Gophers athletic department was listening.
Gopher Athletics has added four new vendors to the West Plaza area of TCF Bank Stadium after feedback from fans asking for more food choices at football games and the new options are pretty outstanding.
Minnesota-based food partners Ike’s Restaurant, Pimento Jamaican Kitchen, Curds & Cakes and Jax Café will all be serving customers at the West Plaza either in storefront shell or tent form and there will also be more drink choices as well.
All of these options can be consumed at high top tables and drink rails overlooking the field.
The Gopher athletic department unveiled the new options to the fan advisory board at a tasting in one of the kitchens at TCF Bank Stadium.
Here is some of the fare that will be served up by each vendor to get the hunger going before the season starts:
Curds and Cakes: Cheese curds, jalapeño cheese curds, surly “furious” beer-battered cheese curds.
Ike’s Restaurant: Pot roast sandwich, roast turkey breast sandwich, Minnesota chopped salad, cinnamon bread pudding.
Jax Café: Jax cheese steaks, boneless buffalo wings, bacon-wrapped hot dog, buffalo sauce flavored chips.
Pimento Jamaican Kitchen: Kingston style jerk chicken, slow-roasted jerk pork, Jamaican beef patty, flavor-enhancing sauces.
Each vendor will be open when the Gophers kick off the season on Aug. 31 against Buffalo.
