Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich nominated for Broyles Award
Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is one
of 56 nominees for the Broyles Award, given annually to the top college football assistant. Yurcich’s offense is
second in the FBS in points per game and total offense.
Yurcich is one of seven Big 12 nominees. The previous four Big 12 assistants to win the award all became head coaches.

Cowboys paying homage to Eddie Sutton with focus on defense
In an effort to emphasize defense in the same way Eddie Sutton did, Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton had the
word “defense” put on the back
of his players’ practice shorts. Sutton did the same during his tenure, which included two Final Four appearance.
Boynton’s first season as the Cowboys’ coach begins Friday against Pepperdine.
