Mike Yurcich is at the helm of one of college football’s top offenses. Oklahoma State scored 52 points in the Cowboys’ Bedlam 10 point Bedlam loss, which isn’t enough to get it done in this day and age at times.
According to Kendrick Marshall of the Tulsa World, Gundy still isn’t second guessing his offensive coordinator the loss. “I don’t question anything Mike (Yurcich) does,” said Gundy. “I think Mike was through the roof in the plays he called in (that) game.”
Even though Gundy admits Yurcich should have called a couple more runs for Justice Hill, it’s hard to find areas where Yurcich could have been better. Hill still carried the ball 30 times for 228 yards against the Sooners.
Yurcich’s play calling was fine, the chips just didn’t fall in Oklahoma State’s favor. Baker Mayfield was dominant on the day, and made plays that defenses can’t do anything about. It was a loss, but the loss can’t be laid at the feet of Yurcich and the Oklahoma State offense.
