LSU wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph has made the most of this NCAA Contact Period.
After checking in on Devonta Jason, Ja’Marr Chase and 4-star commit Kenan Jones through the first 48 hours, Joseph will head up north to Jena, La., to see 3-star wide receiver pledge Jaray Jenkins for an in-home visit on Wednesday.
Jenkins was an early commitment in the Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class. The versatile 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver missed all of his senior season with a fractured tibia, but has recently shed his walking boot and is far along in his recovery.
Most recently, Jenkins made an unofficial visit back to Baton Rouge for the Texas A&M game last Saturday night.
After suffering the injury in September, he received an immediate phone call from the LSU staff, including Joseph, Ed Orgeron and Matt Canada, which helped solidify his commitment.
Jenkins is one of two receivers committed to LSU in the 2018 class along with the aforementioned Jones.
