Michigan fullback Henry Poggi scores first career TD on second carry

Henry Poggi doesn’t get too many chances to run the football. But Michigan’s fullback took advantage of one on Saturday.

On the second carry of Poggi’s career, the senior found the end zone for the first time in maize and blue. Poggi, who stands at 6-foot-4, 244 pounds, got the Wolverines on the scoreboard on Saturday at Maryland.

Poggi’s only other career carry came in the 2016 season and went for 4 yards. He did touch the ball twice this season before Saturday, making 2 catches for 21 yards. But this was the first time the Wolverines called Poggi’s number on the ground.

To make his first college score even sweeter, the Baltimore native did so in College Park, Md.

The Wolverines are trying to get to 8-2 on the season with a win at Maryland, and the win would be the team’s third in a row. Michigan was up 14-0 in the second quarter on a Chris Evans touchdown. You can follow live updates here.
