One Wednesday morning, Michael Bennett detailed a lengthy post to his Twitter account claiming that he was targeted by the Las Vegas police officers as well as abused for, “simply for being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Bennett has been sitting during the national anthem this preseason in hopes of better equality, which is much the same reason Colin Kaepernick knelled last season.

You can read Bennett’s full account, in his own words, below. Bennett also said that he has retained an attorney and could potentially file a civil rights lawsuit.

Bennett is one of the most outspoken players in the league and he’s also one of the best.  After beginning his career as undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, he’s become a two-time pro bowler with the Seattle Seahawks.
