Miami Hurricanes hilariously trolls USA Today writer for his negative tweet

The Internet never forgets.

Week after the week, the Miami Hurricanes continued to earn victories. However, merely being undefeated wasn’t impressive enough for this USA Today writer.

Dan Wolken doubted the legitimacy of Miami’s College Football Playoff chances because of the team’s narrow victories vs. Florida State, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and North Carolina.

So after Miami (8-0, 6-0) handled Virginia Tech 28-10 last Saturday, the Hurricanes football twitter account poked some fun by replying to Wolken’s tweet from October.

Hilarious stuff.

Miami Twitter is clearly in playoff form as the Hurricanes prepare to make a push for the postseason.

After the Virginia Tech game, Wolken defended his previous statement while now giving Miami some credit.

Wolken later added the idea that he’s a Hurricanes hater couldn’t be further from the truth.

While some Miami fans will probably still feel that way, everyone can agree with Wolken that this Saturday’s matchup vs. rival Notre Dame (8-1) at Hard Rock Stadium could shape up to be a classic.

Miami jumped up to No. 7 in the CFP rankings while Notre Dame checks in at No. 3.

Notre Dame-Miami is slated for an 8 p.m. (EST) kickoff and will be televised on ABC.
