So let’s get to it. Here is the Iowa Breakfast Club for Thursday, Aug. 10.

Fast track to recovery

Former Iowa defensive lineman Karl Klug tore his Achilles tendon in January. His recovery is going better than expected, reports Joe Rexrode of The Tennessean. It puts Klug in position to be among the toughest Tennessee Titans, but maybe not the toughest Klug in Nashville. His identical twin brother Kevin runs a fitness center there.

Getting noticed

Linebacker Amani Jones wants to make an impact in 2017. Land of 10 caught up with the sophomore to see how he plans to do it.

Kid Captains are onboard

Iowa announced its Kid Captains for the 2017 season on Wednesday. The video to honor the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital pediatric patients is worth your time.

Meet the M.I.L.

What is M.I.L.? It’s Most Important Lineman. For Iowa, that would be Matt Nelson in camp, as Land of 10 reports.

Keep looking good

Another day and another story coming out of San Francisco 49ers camp about former Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard. He continued his impressive start to camp on Wednesday, according to Joe Fann of 49ers.com. Fann also noted former Iowa tight end George Kittle was held out of practice with a hamstring injury.

3 for 3

The Des Moines Register unveiled its third member of the Iowa Eight, its list of the top eight high school football players in the state. For the third straight day the player has a connection with the Hawkeyes. This time it was Class of 2019 tackle commit Ezra Miller from Holstein.

Back behind center

Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register caught up with Iowa quarterback Ryan Boyle. The two chatted about his move to the position from wide receiver.

Set your calendar

Iowa wrestling released its schedule on Wednesday. The biggest surprise is seeing the Cy-Hawk rivalry dual moved to the end of the season, as Land of 10 reported.
