LSU Tigers podcast: Matt Canada and Dave Aranda are college football’s most powerful coordinators

Welcome to One Team, One Podcast, SEC Country’s daily LSU football podcast with your host Carter “The Power” Bryant. We are joined in this episode by SEC Country’s Alex Hickey to recap defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s press conference.

Here is a rundown of the second episode of One Team, One Podcast:

Dave Aranda and Matt Canada speak out:

The media was allowed in for a brief portion of practice. Read Nick Suss and Hickey’s recaps and check out Sam Spiegelman’s collection of photos below:

While much wasn’t learned on the field, their was plenty said of it from Aranda and Canada.

Hickey breaks down Aranda’s love for LSU’s talented stable of freshmen linebackers and what we have learned about the Tigers front seven. Hickey also highlights the rise of  defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence, safety Grant Delpit, linebacker Jacob Phillips and more youthful Tigers.

Senior Danny Etling remains firm as the starting quarterback, but the buzz surrounding true freshmen quarterbacks Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse continues to grow. Hickey chats Canada’s assessments of their development, as well as the jockeying for snaps at wide receiver and running back.

Hickey discusses two major question marks. Who will step up behind senior DJ Chark at receiver? And is Darrel Williams the clear backup at running back for Derrius Guice?

Odell Beckham Jr. preseason injury:

Bryant discusses Beckham’s injury scare from yesterday’s preseason game between the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

Should the tradition of Mike the Tiger be stopped?

LSU welcomed Mike VII into the world with joy and fanfare:

Bryant begs the question if it is ethically right to have Tiger on campus? And if so, is it worth the absorbent cost of maintenance? Mike’s habitat just went through a $950,000 renovation.
