The first piece of LSU’s 2020 recruiting class is in place.
On Monday night, the Tigers secured a commitment from blue-chip defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson, who has been a regular in Baton Rouge since camping at LSU in June.
Jackson, a 4-star defensive tackle, measures up at 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds. The George County (Miss.) High School standout is ranked as the No. 36 prospect in his class and the top-rated recruit from the Magnolia State.
Jackson landed his offer from Ed Orgeron and the Tigers during a June linemen camp.He has since visited for a handful of home games, including this past weekend’s 45-21 victory against Texas A&M.
Jackson chose LSU over offers from Alabama, Auburn and Florida State, among others. He is the first member of LSU’s 2020 recruiting class.
