LSU’s 2018 recruiting class last one of its longest-tenured commitments.
Nadab Joseph , a 4-star defensive back and top-250 prospect in the class, de-committed from LSU on Thursday amid interest from several other notable programs.
Joseph, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect capable of playing both safety and cornerback, received an offer from Corey Raymond and the Tigers last June. He committed on the spot.
Since then, the Miami-area recruit saw his recruitment take off. Schools such as UGA, Florida, Florida State and Alabama have been pushing hard to flip the elite defensive back, who finally reopened his recruitment ahead of his senior season at Champagnat Catholic (Fla.) High School.
LSU remains in the mix for Joseph, but faces stiff competition from the aformentioned schools. Joseph has been primarily linked to Alabama and UGA.
The loss of Joseph drops the Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class down to 19 commitments, including two defensive backs: 4-star Kelvin Joseph and 3-star Ar’Darius Washington.
LSU will continue to pursue Joseph as well as 5-star Houston corner Anthony Cook and 3-star New Orleans safety Joseph Foucha.
