LSU football podcast: Tigers missed potential QB in Lafayette native & Hogs starter Cole Kelley

LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s  One Team, One Podcast. Host  Carter ‘The Power” Bryant shares why LSU fans will feel sick if Lafayette native and Arkansas freshman quarterback Cole Kelly becomes an SEC star. Also, SEC Country recruiting ace Sam Spiegelman joins the show to discuss how Arkansas recruits the state of Louisiana, why a 3-star quarterback could become the Tigers lone signal caller for the 2018 class and what he learned from his trip to Alabama to visit recruits.

Arkansas QB Cole Kelley could be a massive LSU miss

The recruiting and development of the quarterback position has been a thorn in LSU’s side for years. Danny Etling’s inability to make big throws against Alabama cost the Tigers a massive opportunity for an upset.

The Tigers did not offer former 3-star Lafayette native Cole Kelley in 2016. LSU was able to get Lindsey Scott, who has since transferred to “Last Chance U”. Spiegelman shares details of Kelley’s recruitment.

Kelley has shown some flashes of excellence in his redshirt freshman season since taking over for injured senior Austin Allen. Allen may get the start against LSU on Saturday since Kelley is battling turf toe.

Bryant says if Kelley becomes a star at Arkansas, LSU fans will complain about another miss in their own backyard.

Hogs recruit Louisiana hard

LSU does not have enough room to bring in all of the talent in Louisiana. Spiegelman breaks down how the Razorbacks have found success recruiting “Boot Hogs”, which are often players the Tigers do not recruit as hard. It has paid huge dividends for Arkansas.

Is James Foster LSU’s 2018 quarterback?

Spiegelman shares the details of potential LSU quarterback James Foster. The 2018 class has yet to receive a quarterback commit.

LSU vs Alabama ratings are down

The Tigers versus the Crimson Tide was the most watched college football game of the weekend. But Bryant tells you why the ratings were down over 30 percent from last season’s game.
