LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant lays out why 4-star quarterback 2018 target Justin Rogers has a very solid reason to not flip from TCU to the Tigers. Also, SEC Country recruiting ace Sam Spiegelman hops to talk about the Tigers latest commitment from 2020 defensive lineman McKinley Jackson, the in-home visit craziness from the LSU coaching staff and what to expect from from offensive coordinator Matt Canada as a recruiter.
Matt Canada’s future will affect Justin Rogers
The Tigers do not currently have a quarterback committed in the 2018 class. Their main target is 4-star TCU commit Justin Rogers, an explosive dual-threat playmaker from Parkway High School in Shreveport. Rogers’ teammate and top receiver Terrace Marshall is a 5-star prospect Spiegelman expects LSU will land.
Bryant believes one thing holding Rogers back from committing to the Tigers is the future of Canada, who has interest in other coaching opportunities. Spiegelman breaks down the relationship Rogers has with Canada, the rest of the LSU staff and current players.
McKinley Jackson commits to the Tigers
Spiegelman caught up with 5-star defensive line stud to discuss his pledge to Ed Orgeron and the Bayou Bengals. Spiegs breaks down why this was huge for the future of LSU’s defensive front.
LSU coaches in-home visits
The coaches have been able to focus on recruiting now there are no games until the bowl. Spiegelman goes through which coaches have visited where and why that is important with the early signing period coming in late December. Keep up with it all by clicking here.
Bryant ends the show with the return of the Fact of the Day. Do you think you know everything about the fascinating country of Japan?
