LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Your host Carter “The Power” Bryant shares why Tigers fans shouldn’t panic if Ed Orgeron plays his entire 2017 class. Bryant is also joined by SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman to breakdown the “Battle on the Border” in Shreveport, La. and the latest in LSU recruiting news.
LSU defeated BYU 27-0 in New Orleans on Saturday. The game was originally set to be played in Houston’s NRG Stadium, but was moved due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. Donate to relief efforts by visiting RedCross.org.
Ed Orgeron’s loaded 2017 class
Orgeron knows his young talent is ready to contribute now. LSU played 17 of its 22 signees in Saturday’s win against BYU. He said there is the possibility all 22 of the signees will have their redshirts burned this season.
There is skepticism regarding that strategy, considering it could hurt the Tigers depth in years to come. Bryant argues that redshirting freshmen is an overrated practice, as it robs the team of current players on the roster that can help you win games.
All Eyes on Terrace Marshall
Spiegleman joins the show while traveling to “Battle on the Border” in Shreveport, La. The big draw is his No. 1 Louisiana recruit Terrace Marshall of Parkway High School. He updates us on LSU’s recruitment of Marshall, a 5-star receiver the Tigers desperately needs.
Marshall’s quarterback Justin Rogers, a 4-star TCU commit, recently suffered a gruesome leg injury. Will LSU continue to recruit Rogers to Baton Rouge?
Spiegelman also updates the show on other various recruiting topics surrounding the Tigers.
Spiegelman’s surprise date ruined?
Spiegelman’s last appearance on the show happened during his girlfriend’s surprise birthday. Bryant had her join in on the conversation. The two discuss if the intended romantic evening turned catastrophic.
