LSU football podcast: Golden Band from Tigerland should play “Neck” after every home win

LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s  One Team, One Podcast. Host  Carter ‘The Power” Bryant lays out why the Golden Band from Tigerland should play “Neck” after every home win like it did against Texas A&M. Also, SEC Country beat writer Nick “Sussy” Suss hopped on the show to share how offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s Tigers offense has been similar to his predecessor Steve Ensminer, his latest film study on the LSU defense and why a good chair means everything when watching football.

Golden Band from Tigerland should play “Neck”

The Band? Really? You start a podcast talking about the band?

Yes. Why not? Bryant loves the Golden Band from Tigerland. Its halftime Star Wars performance against Texas A&M was nothing short of sensational. But the real story came after the game when it, with the help of Odell Beckham Jr., played “Neck”. The song is controversial because of the vulgarities yelled in unison from fans during it.

Bryant explains does not mind it if it is played after the game in Tigers victory.

LSU’s offense under Matt Canada and Steve Ensminger

Current offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s name could be in the mix for head coaching jobs across the country. Suss shares how the production under Canada has actually been slightly worse than it was under Ensminger, who was the interim coordinator after the firing of Cam Cameron.

Suss also chats about the play of quarterback Danny Etling and running backs Darrel Williams and Derrius Guice.

Suss went into detail about how the Tigers forced four turnovers in an SEC game for the first time since 2012.

Bryant ends the podcast sharing a few thoughts on the loss of a friend, a graduate scholar from LSU who also studied at Columbia University. He shared how the young man faced issues similar to those of some of the Tigers football players.
